New methodology for natural gas transmission tariffs presented in Georgia

On 16 January, the EU4Energy Governance Project presented the first draft of the gas transmission tariff methodology and calculation tool during a stakeholder meeting in Georgia.

The new methodology will enable Georgian Gas Transmission Company to calculate the applicable tariffs and implement the entry-exit tariff system in practice, in line with the provisions of European Commission Regulations.

Under the proposed tariff methodology, the system for calculating costs becomes more transparent and replicable. The new methodology will also ensure that the costs of the gas transmission operator are covered and the tariffs are designed in a fair manner for consumers.
