Mercedes Vera-Martin: Georgia’s Economy is Growing Faster than we Expected

“We see that Georgia’s economy is growing faster than we expected. We will provide updated information on the economy and economic growth rate of Georgia to our head office”, – Mercedes Vera-Martin, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission for Georgia announced after the meeting with Dimitri Kumsishvili.

According to the Economy Ministry, the head of the IMF mission also focused on structural reforms.

“We had a very productive conversation about the structural reforms in the Ministry of Economy. We are glad that conducted structural changes serve the inclusive growth of economy in Georgia, which is reflected on the life of each citizen”, – Mercedes Vera-Martin said.

Delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived to assess the current economic situation in Georgia. They will meet with representatives of Georgian government and private sector within the frame of the visit.
