McDonald’s Georgia plans to open an international logistics center in Tbilisi to ensure regional services of McDonald’s restaurants.
The opening ceremony will be held on March 28 at 12 o’clock. Minister of Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, Philip Mid, director for McDonald’s logistics European division, Temur Chkonia and director general Tengiz Kapanadze will attend the opening ceremony.
The center will serve the South Caucasus region. The center planning works were performed by European division of McDonald’s and its official partner Havi, a German logistics company.
“The logistics center has no analogue in the South Caucasus and it is equipped by cutting-edge technologies and meets EU top standards. The storehouse comprises 20 refrigerator zones and this format implies a full spectrum of logistics services”, the company representatives said.
With the support of Produce in Georgia program, the logistics center has arranged a salad line that is oriented on valuable supply of McDonald’s chain in the South Caucasus.
Total space of the center is 3 300 square meters. Investments value marked 2.3 million EUR. The center employs 30 persons. The center is able to process 1500 tons of products a day.
McDonald’s first restaurant opened in Georgia in 1999 and currently the company owns 11 branches in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Zugidi and Rustavi. According to the 2016 report, McDonald’s Georgia was named the best European branch.
