Mariam Valishvili: Probability of Theoretical Fiscal Risks in Energy Sector is Low

According to the Deputy Minister of Energy, Mariam Valishvili Government, with the support of EBRD has worked on assessing fiscal risks and found out that existing prices on electricity market  does not create base of building new generation facilities. Valishvili told Business Course.

Recommendation of Monetary Fund for Georgia is to assess fiscal risks which are not guaranteed to happen, rather these are theoretical risks with low probabilities.

Renewable energy and new technologies need different instruments that won’t be only market instruments.
