Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia Airlines Will Enter Georgian Air Market in June

Three new airlines will enter the Georgian air market in June 2018, Voyager company director Mariam Kvrivishvili told BM.GE.

The company is a general distributor on behalf of five airlines in Georgia, including three new airlines: Salam Air, Oman’s national airline; Jazeera Airways, Saudi Arabia’s national airline; and Flynas, the national airline of Kuwait. Flights to Georgia will be supported from two cities – Jeda and Riad.

“These airlines will perform direct flights to Tbilisi from these countries. We have conducted negotiations for many years to raise their interest. We have done a lot of research work specially for them.”

“Growing passenger turnover has raised the interest of these companies. The annual growth pace is about 35% and this is huge indicator. It is important that tourist inflow grows from Gulf countries, and this is interesting tendency for airlines. Moreover, governmental support in the negotiating process has also encouraged them. The Ministry of Economy and National Tourism Agency were involved in this process,” Kvrivishvili said.

Besides these airlines, the Voyager company also represents FlyDubai and Gulf Air companies in Georgia.
