Our goal is to transport part of China-Europe’s cargo via Georgian corridor, Dimitri Kumsisishvili, minister of Economy stated at a meeting with Liu Tianzong, chairman of Chamber of Silk Road International Trade.
The Vice Prime Minister discussed the importance of developing the silk road.
Chamber of Silk Road International Trade was established in 2015 in a special administrative region of Hong Kong. It unites the biggest companies of the region, who are interested to engage Georgia in the regional Silk Road projects.
“Development of Silk Road is essential for Georgia. Numerous important infrastructures have been improved in our country, which will further strengthen our role in the silk Road. Annual cargo turnover between China and Georgia totals to 500 million tons and part of this cargo turnover should be transmitted on Georgia’s soil.
We have ambition to transport important amount of cargo via Georgia. It will bring our country wellness, additional working places , knowledge and infrastructure,” Dimitri Kumsishvili told the reporters after the meeting.
