Khelvachauri HPP Put into Service

Khelvachauri 1 hydro power plant (HPP) has been put into service.

A part of the generated electricity will be purchased by Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO). Adjar Energy 2007, Khelvachauri 1 HPP owner, and ESCO have already signed an agreement on guaranteed purchase.

Installed generation of the HPP is 47.48 megawatts. The facility was built by Turkish investments. The planned generation of the HPP is 229.8 million kw/h and it consists of 6 aggregates.

Khelvachauri HPP built by Turkish company Adjar Energy 2007 is the first finished HPP of Cascade type jointly with Kirnati HPP and Khelvachauri 2 HPP. Construction works of the last 2 facilities will end in several years.
