Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze and the Anadolu Group founder have signed a memorandum on construction of Kheledula 3 hydro power plant (HPP).
The project will be implemented on the ground of mutual understanding memorandum signed with Government of Georgia in May 2015.
The company is obliged to sell a part of generated electricity on domestic market in energy deficiency period.
“Project implementation will make a certain contribution to resolving long-term tasks in Georgian energy sector through full satisfaction of consumption demand by our own hydro resources”, Energy Ministry representatives explained.
Kheledula 3 HPP will be constructed in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region, on the river Kheledula, Lentekhi Municipality.
Installed generation of the facility is 50.77 megawatts. Total investment value of the project is 90 million USD. Averaged annual generation of the design HPP is 250 megawatt/hour.
