KfW Appoints New Director for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Department

On July 25 Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with Eva Witt, director for the Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia department of the Reconstruction Credit Institute of Germany (KfW), and Klaus Veigel, the new director of the South Caucasus regional office, who will replace Lars Oermann on the position in early August.

At the meeting the Georgian Finance Minister expressed condolences to the Germany government and the German nation  in  relation to sacrifices of act of Terrorism in Munich.

The parties discussed implementation of KfW-supported projects in Georgia and future cooperation issues.

Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri wished success to Klaus Veigel and expressed readiness to tightly cooperate with the new regional director and his team. Nodar Khaduri also thanked Lars Oermann for working and partnership in Georgia.

By financial support of Germany, several important projects are being implemented in Georgia, including in power sector, urban and municipal infrastructure, in terms of development of protected territories and improvement of IDPs living conditions.

The Reconstruction Credit Institute of Germany (KfW) implements development projects in Georgia through preferential loans and grants.
