An Investment in Education by One of Georgia’s Largest Investors

Tomorrow, 10 September, at 11 am, Hilton Batumi will host Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC’s  presentation of educational projects being implemented as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program and a scholarship award ceremony for students whose tuition fees will be covered by the company in accordance with the memorandum it signed with the Ministry of Education of Georgia.

The event will be attended by Ronny Solberg, CEO of Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC, Aleksandre Jejelava, Minister of Education of Georgia, and Giorgi Tavamaishvili Minister of Education of Autonomous Republic of Adjara. Representatives from central and local government, the directors of the Khulo and Shuakhevi educational resource centers, school directors, public school teachers, university students participating in the internship program at the Shuakhevi Hydro Power Plant (HPP), and members of NGOs and the media will also attend.

In addition to the construction of the Shuakhevi HPP, the company is implementing more than 70 social projects focusing on the long-term development of Adjara. One of the main priorities of these projects is education and awareness raising in the Khulo and Shuakhevi municipalities. These educational projects are planned based on socioeconomic research into the needs of the region and carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Adjara, local government, and residents of affected areas.

Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC has invested USD 416 million into the construction of the Shuakhevi HPP and employs 730 Georgian citizens. The company holds itself to a high standard of social responsibility and is working to promote the economic and social development of the Adjara region and to improve the living standards of the people living within the project area.
