Electric cars and minibuses may be exempt from the added value tax.
Tbilisi City Hall appeals to the Parliament with the draft project to exempt import and manufacturing of this type of transport from VAT. The issue is already agreed with the Finance Minister.
The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze stated about it during his speech at the government session.
“We want to exempt import and manufacturing of electronic vehicles and buses from VAT. This decision will contribute growth of electronic transport on the market and their import, as well as manufacturing of electronic buses and microbuses on the local market”, – Kaladze notes and hopes that the Parliament will support the issue.
To note, the company “PregoBus” plans to start manufacturing of electronic buses and microbuses in Georgia jointly with European and Chinese partners. International finance organizations have already expressed their willingness to support such projects.
