IMF mission, headed by Mercedes Veramartines, launched official meetings in Tbilisi.
The mission met Ministers of Economy and Finance on Tuesday. They had discussed Georgian fiscal condition, basic parameters of the budget and talked about the government’s vision on budget deficit. They had focused on budget policy for a mid-term period as well.
It was noted at the meeting, that Georgian government will finish work on budget project of 2017 in the nearest future. Georgian side expressed readiness to envisage recommendation of IMF mission while making budget parameters of the next year and fiscal plans for a mid term period. To remind, IMF predicts deficit of 6% of 2017 budget due to the introduction of “Estonian Model”, whereas government expects merely 4%.
