Government of Georgia plans to spend 271 million GEL on constructing Anaklia Seaport approach way and railroad section. Under the plan, submitted to the parliament, the state budget will allocate 20 million GEL in 2019, 75 million GEL in 2020, 75 million GEL in 2021 and 90 million GEL in 2022.
“Construction of the mentioned motorway and railroad section will accelerate Anaklia seaport construction project and later the mentioned infrastructure will be used fop cargo turnover”, the document reads.
As part of the project, a total of 18 kilometer motor road and railroad section will be built. We remind you that Ministry of Infrastructure announced tender in 2017 for selecting the company for building the mentioned approach way and railroad section. Despite several tenders, the company has not been selected yet and the 11 million GEL funds allocated from the state budget have not been used yet.
