Russian oil giant “Rosneft” plans to buy a control package in Poti Terminal.

In keeping with the confidentiality of the source, Roman Gotsiridze informed the colleagues and urged the government and parliament to take immediate legislative amendments, which should be reaction on “the permanent attempt by the Russian to mock the country”.

Roman Gotsiridze also said that “Rosneft” made a decision to start operating in Tskhinvali, South Ossetia.

It is worth to mention that “Rosneft” is interested in Georgia. The Russian company purchased 49% of Petrocas Energy Limited in 2014 and paid $ 144 million to businessman David Iakobashvili.

Also, “Rosneft” said that they were using the South Caucasus corridor to supply oil products to Turkey. It was also said that Petrocas and his co-owner “Rosneft” were planning to supply oil products to Iran through Georgia and Azerbaijan in 2017.

As Vano Nakaidze, General Director of Petrocas Energy Group stated, Petrocas was considering construction of a logistics terminal via the South Caucasian transport corridor.
