Giorgi Gakharia: Obligatory Technical Inspection will not Be Suspended

“Obligatory technical inspection will start on January 1, 2018 and it will not be suspended for even one day”, Minister of Economy Giorgi Gakharia noted. The third stage of the project will be finished by the end of September and then the campaign dedicated to timely and high-quality enforcement of technical inspection will start.

“SGS, the world’s one of the best companies, is working on the project and it has already finished two stage of three ones. The third phase will be finished at the end of September. A special campaign will start at the end of October for timely and valuable implementation of technical inspection.

The technical inspection will be carried out for a period of one year due to the special plan. At the first stage, we will tighten control and then vehicles will pass technical inspection for a year.

Until the company submits a final conclusion to the Ministry, all these statements are just speculations and I doubt there are narrow corporate interests behind those statements”, Gakharia said.
