Georgian Railway Trade Union Holds XIV Assembly

Georgian Railway Trade Union (GRTU) has held XIV reporting and election assembly. A total of 145 delegates have attended the meeting.

The Assembly elected Zurab Nasaraia  as a GRTU chairperson , as well as the board members. The 2017-2012 action program was approved. Control-revision commission and the board’s performance report were also introduced.

The assembly was attended by representatives of Railway Trade Unions of France – UNSA, chairpersons of railway trade unions of Hungary, Lithuania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, secretary general of European Transport Worker’s Federation  and the secretary general of Railroad Transport Building International Confederation. Attendance of these guests have increased legitimacy of this assembly.

In his speech the secretary general of European Transport Worker’s Federation backed the Assembly and noted that Georgia is an ancient European country and all efforts should be taken for integration of the country into EU.
