Georgian pharmaceutical company GPC intends to increase its sales by introducing a system of selling drugs in installments. The company openly declares that the initiative is marketing one, rather than social and its only purpose is to increase sales.
According to the head of GPC Public Relations Tea Javakhishvili, there is a demand for installment sales of drugs among the Georgian population. Therefore, the implementation of this system has been included to the company’s agenda.
Health Ministry’s response to the GPC’s move was negative.
“I don’t see any objective as to why a large pharmaceutical company was forced to resort to this kind of action to increase its sales,” Sergeenko said.
Minister of Health Davit Sergeenko says that the system of payment for medication by installments may complicate the financial situation of the population even more.
In the words of his Deputy Heath Minister Valeri Kvaratskhelia, this project will create immense difficulties for pensioners.
