Georgian Industrial Group (GIG) intends to purchase KazTransGas company and due negotiations are underway, Deputy Energy Minister of Georgia Mariam Valishvili said.
“According to my information, the parties are negotiating the issues, but I am not aware of details”, Valishvili told the Business Contact. At this stage, the Kazakh party is carrying the audit at KazTransGas, the Deputy Energy Minister added.
The Business Contact contacted the GIG press service too, but the service denied to have similar information on negotiations.

As reported, in summer 2016 the Ministry of Energy of Georgia confirmed information that Kazakh management intended to return to KazTransGas. We remind you that in 2006 KazTransGas purchased TbilGas, Tbilisi gas distributor company, at 12.5 million USD.
As of 2009 KazTransGas debts made up 80 million GEL, including the company owes 68 million GEL to GOGC. The Energy and Water Supply Regulatory National Commission has appointed a special manager at KazTransGas Tbilisi for collecting the company debts.
