Georgian Economy to Increase Despite of Current Circumstances in the Region

According to National Statistics Office of Georgia, Georgian economy has been increased with 2.2%. Economic Analyst, Rezo Beridze believes that considering circumstances in the region, Georgia has a satisfactory economic rate.

These are preliminary statistics which is satisfactory at this stage if we consider the circumstances in the region. There is definitely a positive trend. The economy is increasing stably and current data is not much less than predicted” -declared Rezo Beridze.

There were few factors which made the economic growth slower. Construction was one of these. It was delayed in December, which was defined by seasonal factor on the one hand and also long term projects such as construction of railway road came to an end. Therefore, these kinds of factors made an influence on the speed of development.

If we look at the data, we will understand that tourism contributed a lot to economic growth.  We also have a good trend in the field of export. Transportation sector has increased as well.

Compared to 2016, annual GDP has increased with 0.3 %, however in December, it was even 1.2%. The annual real growth of GDP was 2.2 with preliminary statistics.
