Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce Liu Xianzong and Georgian prime minister conducted a meeting.
Sides discussed perspectives of development of trade, economic and culture related areas within the frames of Silk Road Project and involvement of Georgia as one of the most ancient Silk Road member countries in the regional projects.
Geostrategic importance of Georgia was emphasized during the meeting. It was noted that Silk Road will enable Georgia to develop economy, establish new links and showcaseits investment and touristic potential even better.
Sides expressed hope that via the Silk Road Project, Georgia will reclaim its function of being a nexus between Europe and Asia. The main aspects of Georgia-China relationships were discussed. Fortification of the partnership between the states was evaluated positively.
The importance of Memorandum of Understanding between Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce was highlighted. It was noted that the Memorandum will reinforce cooperation, will enable businessmen to cooperate more actively and become part of international commercial networks.
Giorgi Kvirikashvili presented his Special Representative on Silk Road Issues, Director General of Georgian Railway Mamuka Bakhtadze. The Chamber was established in 2015 in Hong Kong and 36 largest companies worldwide are its members. President of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nino Chikovani attended the meeting at the Administration of Government.
