Georgia Plans to Export Citrus to Central Asia

In the near future, Georgian citruses might be  exported  to Central Asia.

As the Minister of Agriculture of Georgia Zaur Putkaradze  states CBW, the Ministry  is actively negotiating on this issue. It is assumed that the products can be transported to Central Asia in a  ferry across the Caspian Sea.

“Our railway is actively involved in this process  in order to avoid any problems in the future. I believe that this year large quantities of products will be exported  to  Central Asia,  both citrus fruits  and other agricultural products,” he said.

In his words, now the citruses from Adjara region are exported mainly to Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries
