Minister of Finance of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze met with the Chief Economist of World Bank in Europe and Central Asia region Hans Timmer. At the meeting, the development of innovative technologies in the public sector was discussed.
According to the Press office of the Ministry of Finance, the reason for this dialogue with the Georgian government has become a fact that Georgia is considered as a successful example of the implementation of Blockchain technology.
Earlier Representatives of the World Bank noted that Georgia is a well-developed country in terms of crypto currency – including Bitcoin manufacturing and Blockchain technologies, and moreover, the country is one of the leaders in this regard worldwide. Thus, it was important for the World Bank to study experience of Georgia’s public and private sector in this direction, especially in the use of Blockchain technologies.
