Georgia-EU Association Objectives

Tbilisi hosted a conference “Georgia-EU Association Objectives” – a joint initiative of the Government of Georgia and Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.

The conference echoed the cooperation memoranda between the Government of Georgia and Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum signed back in 2015 that oversees the arrangement of an annual high-level discussion forum.

The conference aims to promote the involvement of civil society in the implementation of Georgia’s Association Agreement with the European Union, focusing on the policy documents prepared by the Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum.

Acting Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Kvirikashvili opened the conference.

Janos Herman, Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia, and Niels Scott, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Georgia, and David Bakradze, acting State Minister of Georgia on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration addressed the participants of the forum.

The Conference brought together representatives of Government, civil society, diplomatic missions and international organizations.

The Conference is organized by the Office of State Minister on the European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia and Georgian National Platform of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Sweden.
