Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development George Kobulia, who is in the People’s Republic of China within the frames of the Georgian Government Delegation visit to China to participate in the International Import Forum and Exhibition of China, evaluated the results of the visit.
According to George Kobulia, if Georgian companies use even a bit of this opportunity, this will be a significant breakthrough for Georgia. “Today we see an unprecedented interest of Georgian companies towards the International Import Forum and Exhibition of China. Over 50 companies have arrived in China,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.
George Kobulia commented on the Agreement signed by the Georgian Government delegation in China, which envisages the establishment of a coach manufacturing company in Georgia. The Minister noted that the Chine has interest in Georgian agricultural products, wines, hazelnuts and fruit juices. The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development also confirmed that the Bank of China Group, one of the largest financial group, expressed the willingness to start cooperation with Georgia. The Chairman of the Bank of China Group held the meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia and the Government Delegation within the frames of the visit.
The Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, George Kobulia also examined the Georgian pavilion at the Shanghai International Import Exhibition. The pavilion introduces the products and services of the of the Georgian companies as well as the Enterprise Georgia Agency, the Innovation and Technology Agency, the National Tourism Administration, the Mountain Resorts Development Company, the National Wine Agency and the Georgian Railway. The guests had the opportunity to get familiar with the Georgia’s business environment, investment potential and business support programs, implemented and scheduled reforms by the Government. Products by the Georgian startups are also introduces at the Georgian pavilion at the Exhibition.
