First Quarter Records 104 200 Internal Visits to Adjara Region

Internal visitors of 15 and above age category have paid 104 200 visits to the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in the first quarter of 2016, up 17% compared to the same period of 2015.

According to Geostat, the national statistics service of Georgia, the Adjara Region’s ratio in total internal visits accounts for 10.5% and the Region ranks second after the Imereti Region. According to the statistics, Adjara recorded 90 200 internal visitors in the first quarter, down from 110 200 internal visitors of the first quarter of 2014.

Internal visitors have carried out 989 800 visits in Georgia in the first quarter of 2016, up 2,5% compared to the same period of 2015.

According to Geostat, the averaged monthly distribution due to visited destinations is as follows: Tbilisi – 25.3%, Imereti – 22%, Adjara – 10.5%, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti – 7.4%, Kakheti – 7.3%, Kvemo Kartli _ 7.1%, Shida Kartli -6.9%, Samtskhe-Javakheti – 4.3%, Mtskheta-Mtianeti – 6.2%, Guria – 2%, Racha – 0.8% and Abkhazia – 0.1%.

Internal visitors have spent 110.5 million GEL, while averaged expenditures per visit made up 122.9 GEL. The major part of the averaged expenditures is recorded for shoppings (31.3%), food (23.9%) and transport (20%).

54.4% of visitors are content with their visits, 25% are very content, 16.1% show neither content nor discontent, 3% are discontent, 0.7% are very discontent and 0.8% found it difficult to answer the question.

A major part of visits was carried out to  friends and relatives (56.3%), for recreation purposes (3.4%), shopping – 12.2%, treatment-recovery – 12.7%.
