European Parliament Ratifies Association Agreement Between Georgia, EU

The European Parliament ratified the association agreement between Georgia and the EU at its meeting in Strasbourg December 18.

The fateful session was attended by President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili, Foreign Minister Tamar Beruchashvili, Chairman of the Committee on  European  Integration Viktor Dolidze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee  Tedo Japaridze and Georgia’s Ambassador to the EU Natalia Sabanadze.

Georgia signed the Association with the EU on June 27, 2014.
Ten countries have already ratified the document: Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary and Sweden. Denmark is planning to ratify the document today.
