Enguri HPP Tourism Zone Design Works Finished

Design works for arranging a tourism zone at Enguri HPP Cascade has been finished. The project will be implemented for 5 years. Tender has been already announced for developing feasibility studies.

The project calls for arranging world-standard amusements to serve 400000 visitors a year.

Investment value of construction works makes up 50 million GEL. About 500 local residents will be employed as part of the project implementation. More than 300 citizens will be employed in parallel services.

National Agency for Cultural Heritage says Enguri HPP tourism zone will become the most profitable zone.

The project also calls for arranging research and discoveries center; extreme amusements, the world’s highest elevator on Cascade (280meters); the region’s longest Zip Line, outdoor concert space, recreation-entertainment zones, boating infrastructure, cognitive space for visitors.
In 2015 Enguri HPP Cascade was conferred the status of national monument of industrial heritage. This facility has real potential to be included in the UNESCO list of world heritage.
