The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will finance the construction of Kheldula HPP with $ 30 million.
Investment cost of the project is 87 million dollars.
The EBRD clarifies that the project will help to reduce carbon intensity in Georgia and will partially meet the growing demand for the country’s electricity and deepen energy trade with Turkey.
Construction of “Kheldula” Hydroelectric Power Plant is planned in Racha-Lechkhumi-Kvemo Svaneti region, in Lentekhi municipality, on the river Kheledula. The installed capacity is 51 MW.
