Caucasus Organic Fruits, a fruits processing company, which launched operation in Mtskheta in October 2017, will open the season in late May and start accepting all sorts of fruits that grow in Georgia throughout the year, the company quality manager Otar Lomidze told BM.GE.
The company will buy fruits from peasants, farmers and cooperatives. A main part of products will be sold in Germany, Italy and Netherlands.
“We have already found partners in these countries, who will buy our products. Key priority is given to European market, however, currently, negotiations are underway and 10% of the products may be sold on domestic market. We also plan develop bio sector. We are passing certification process. TUV German company has also conferred FSSC 22 000 certificate to us and these facts prove that the company satisfies highest international standards and we are welcome on EU market”, Otar Lomidze said.
LLC Caucasus Organic Fruits was launched in Mtskheta, as part of United Agro Project program. The investment value totaled 1.7 million USD, including state co-funding made up 250 000 USD and preferential agro loan of 500 000 USD.
The company produces more than 50 tons of dried fruits a year.
