Retail Trade Market is Developed at High Paces in Tbilisi Colliers International Georgia Publishes New Report

Colliers International Georgia declares in the new survey on shopping habits change of customers.

The company analyzes 2016 and believes that shopping centers, which number is constantly growing, have changed the consumers’ habit – unified space, a diverse range of choice is more comfortable for buyers and so this kind of centers have become popular. That is why the majority of international brands are opening stores in shopping centers.

“Street retail shopping loses its relevance for shopping and develops in other profile,” – said Colliers.

The survey points out that in the second half of 2016, the supply of shopping centers is increased by 10%, while another 110 000 square meters will be opened in Tbilisi for the next 6 months, this is a growth of 43%.  Demand is increasing as well, which is shown by the load indictor of centers.

According to Colliers, a total of 30,000 kvm.m. space were rented in 2016, out of 33% accounts for the household goods and furniture supplier companies. Several international brands entered the market (Bricorama, JYSK), while the existed ones have expanded their stores (Super).

Commercially active streets (Pekini str, Rustaveli ave, Chavchavadze Ave. and Agmashenebeli ave.) are loaded as follows: clothing and footwear (45%), service sector (21%) and café/restaurants (20%).
