Government has not yet selected a new operator at Poti free industrial zone (FIZ) but the Chinese and South Korean investors have already shown their interest in the FIZ.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Ketevan Botchorishvili told Businesscontact. According to her, government is in active negotiations with several major investors.
“The decision is not yet taken, but negotiations areunderway. We are holding talks with several groups,” – the deputy minister notes.
Recall that the Poti Free Industrial Zone has become state property and is operated by the state instead of Rakia Georgia. What was a reason for selling assets by Rakia is unknown.
