Bankruptcy Proceedings Underway in relation to Poti Airport

Bankruptcy proceedings were instituted in relation to JSC Poti Airport. National  Bureau of Enforcement has been appointed as bankruptcy manager.

JSC Poti Airpot was handed to Government in ownership at the end of 2016. Before, the company was owned by RAS Al Khaimah Investment. The agreement on purchase of 98.26% stake in Poti Airport  was abolished with the Arab Company. At the same time, RAS Al Khaimah Investment Authority Georgia will be exempted from the fine determined by September 16, 2011 agreement.

LLC RAS Al Khaimah is owner of RAKIA Georgia, which used to hold Poti Free Industrial Zone. The latter has been also transmitted to the state.

We remind you that the previous government planned to build the airport in Poti. In 2012 the Government found the project unjustified and announced plans for construction of an international airport in Anaklia, instead of Poti.

Poti Airport construction works were officially inaugurated in 2011.
