We back Georgia’s aspiration to develop Europe-Asia transit corridor and grow into a business center, Vazil Hudak, vice president of European Investment Bank (EIB), noted at Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, interpressnews reported.
EIB backs the infrastructure renewal and improvement in Eurasia region, he said.
“We are sure that cross-border infrastructure should be developed further to reap more benefits. Our bank is eager to back a formation of synergy and this initiative, which is called as One Belt- One Road’, the EIB vice president noted.
It is very symbolic that this Forum is held in Georgia, because Georgia is a connecting chain between East and West, he noted.
“At the same time, this is a country, which grows and gets modernized. We are long-term investors and we believe in stable development of Georgia, in its future, its strategy. This year EIB will celebrate the 10 anniversary of operation in Georgia”, the EIB vice president noted and added a lot of projects have been implemented in Georgia over 10 years.
Cooperation with Government of Georgia and the private sectors proceeds in excellent way, the EIB vice president said.
