Architectural Design Development Launched for Tbilisi Bypass and Natakhtari-Zhinvali Section

Architectural design development for the 55-kilometer Tbilisi bypass and the 28-kilometer Natakhtari-Zhinvali highway section has launched, the Prime Minister of Georgia, at today’s Government meeting, spoke of this alternative highway designed to relieve traffic congestion in Tbilisi.

According to Giorgi Kvirikashvili, it will also mark the beginning of the highway leading to the Mleta-Kobi road section, which is a very important project for the full implementation of the country’s transit function.

The design development process will be finalized in 15 months, followed by construction work.

“Today many interesting projects are in the design development phase. As you know, this year we significantly increased infrastructural expenses, and next year we will double last year’s numbers, which will bring about a tremendous effect in terms of economic growth and employment. Many construction projects will launch simultaneously in the summer of 2018, which will have a serious positive impact on our country’s economic development,” the Prime Minister stated.
