Angela Merkel: We Would Like to See More German Investments in Georgia

Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia hosted Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany at a meeting upon her arrival within the scope of an official visit of the German leader. 

Head of the Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the Chancellor of Germany for the official visit to Georgia and noted that it is great honor to host a leader of a friendly nation and supporter of Georgia.

Close relations existing between the two countries, achievements of Georgia on its way of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and significance of German support in this process has been stressed at the meeting of the sovereign leaders.

Parties also spoke about the current situation at the occupied territories of Georgia, peace-keeping policy of the Government of Georgia aimed at the reconciliation and restoration of trust between the conflict-affected societies. Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany once again reiterated solid support of Germany towards the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
