Anaklia Development Consortium Will Spend $20-25m on Anaklia Port Project by The End of the Year

Anaklia Development Consortium, will spend $20-25m on Anaklia port project by the late 2016.

According to President of TBC group, Mamuka Khazaradze, two large tenders that will name international operator and main development company is planned to close in two months from now, as for him two leading European and Asian companies are taking part in the mentioned tender.

“By the end of the year, 20-25 million dollar investment needs to be implemented for the construction preparatory activities such as geology, environmental impacts, velocity of waves and many other specific areas. The biggest issue is receiveing the environmental permission, where world’s leading companies take part,” Khazaradze noted.

As for him, this process will end from six to nine months, after that consortium will be ready to move to construction level.

The Anaklia seaport construction works will be carried out in several stages and its final capacity will exceed 100 million tons. The seaport will launch operation after its annual capacity reaches 7 million tons and this volume must be reached in 3 years after the inauguration of the construction works.

Anaklia Development Consortium representatives noted the project will employ 3 400 persons, while the constructed seaport will employ 6 400 persons.
