After Kutaisi and Poti, Free Industrial Zone to be Set up in Anaklia

A free industrial zone(FIZ) will be set up in the area of 600 hectares  in the vicinity of Anaklia port and  will create new jobs – the Economy Minister told reporters in Parliament where events are being held for the second day within the framework of the Silk Road Forum.

According to Dimitri Kumsishvili, Georgia  has a very good law on free economic zone: it needs to be improved, but at the same time  gives the ability to produce products in Georgia and export them to Europe.

“Hualing free industrial zone” will be opened in Kutaisi today.  The opening of the  Hualing FIZ  will be attended by  the representatives of the  Infrastructure Ministry, Imereti  regional administration, China’s official delegation and “Hualing Group” participating in the Silk Road Forum. “Hualing Group”  has opened a 5-star Hotels & Preference Hualing  hotel  this week. At the opening ceremony Prime Minister thanked the company for the investments made  in Georgia, which volume, as the head of government said,  totaled  $ 500 million.

Currently  two industrial zones are operating in Georgia, namely in Kutaisi and Poti.
