Kakheti railway infrastructure restoration project will be developed by 2019, Kakheti Governor Irakli Kadagishvili told the Business Course.
“This railway will serve both local residents and tourists. Part of the railway crosses vineyards and this is very interesting factor. International experience also exists – tourism combined with railway. Railway infrastructure development is also very important for Kakheti Region, for example, for transportation of sheep from summer pastures to winter fields.
We fruitfully cooperate with Asian Development Bank (ADB). They prioritize railway infrastructure development and I believe ADB will be one of the major contributors.
We have discussed all issues with at regional and municipal levels for tourism, agriculture development and improving the living conditions.
All these directions will be transformed into specific projects, which will be approved jointly with Government of Georgia”, the Kakheti Governor noted.
