47% of exports Georgian honey go to Japan. Georgian honey is also exported to United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia.
At the first meeting of the Beekeeping Board, Minister of Agriculture and Environment Protection talked about importance of the job performed for recognition of Georgian honey on EU market. We have great opportunity on EU market and we should work in various directions, including in terms of ecological aspects for maximally use this opportunity, Levan Davitashvili said.
According to Ministry of Agriculture, for popularization of Georgian beekeeping products, it is important ot participate in international exhibitions. In 2019 Georgia will introduce Georgian honey to the Montreal international exhibition and congress Apimondia.
At the meeting the parties noted that Georgia records growing tendency of beekeeping and honey production. It s noteworthy that today we have branded packed honey projects on the domestic market.
