In Chiatura, the 3428-mile ropeway will be restored. Rehabilitation of ropeway roads has already begun and 40 million GEL will be spent on its works. The project is financed by the Government of Georgia and France.
The project envisages reconstruction of ropeway roads and stations. The central station and four directions out of it will be fully restored. The French company Pomagalski provided the call of a reverse, gondola ropeway.
After completion of the project, locals and visitors will enjoy ecologically clean, new transport.
The ropeway transport is one of the main ways to get around from the 50s of the 20th century on the Chiatura Mountain terrain.
