Starting Next Year Fuel Quality will be Controlled by the State in Georgia

Starting next year, the quality of fuel will be controlled by the state. At the moment, no office carries out oil quality control and the product testing depends on the goodwill of the business sector in Georgia.

Starting 2016, the Department established in the Environmental Supervision Service under the Ministry of Environment Protection will control the fuel compatibility with the norms set by the Georgian legislation.

If violations are revealed, business operators will be fined by 8 -10 thousand lari. The environment ministry has already sent the appropriate bill changes to the government. After the government approval, the bill will be discussed by the legislature.
