11.9% of Residents Receive Living Allowances

According to the last report by Social Service Agency, living allowances are issued to 11.9% of residents of Georgia, that is 445 286 persons and 129 342 families.

It is noteworthy that the number of beneficiaries is declining since January 2018. In January 2018 the figure was 12.2%.

It should be also noted that number of beneficiaries declined by 56 000 persons over the past 6 years.
The most number of socially vulnerable beneficiaries are registered in Tbilisi – 98 000 persons (8.8% of total population), 64 000 beneficiaries are registered in Imereti, 51 000 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 46 000 in Shida Kartli, 44 000 in Kvemo Kartli and 11 000 in Samtskhe-Javakheti.

As to transferred allowances, in July 20.7 million GEL was paid to beneficiaries.
