1.3 BLN to be Spent on Road Construction in 2018

The Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure will have a budget of 1.815 billion USD in 2018.

The government plans to increase spending on infrastructural projects. As a result, budget of the curator ministry increases by 557 million in the next year.

According to the draft budget project of 2018, a total of GEL 1.3 billion will be spent for improving the road infrastructure.

Construction and reconstruction will be made to the following roads:

Chumateli – Argveta road section – 250.0 mln GEL; Zemo Osiauri-Rikoti – 80.0 million GEL; Modernization and construction of Samtredia-Grigoleti highway – 150 million GEL; new bypass road of Batumi – 70.0 million GEL; Rehabilitation and reconstruction of Chumateli-Kharagauli road section – 45.0 mln GEL; new bypass road of Kobuleti – 30 million GEL; Rehabilitation and reconstruction of Khulo-Zarzma section – 30.0 million GEL; road and tunnel construction on Kvemo-Kobi and Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi road section – 53.0 million GEL; – Construction of road on Rustavi-Tsiteli Khidi section  and Tbilisi- Tsiteli Khidi section  – 25 million GEL and etc.

To note, 288.5 million GEL is envisaged for rehabilitation of regional and municipal infrastructure, while 196.0 million GEL for rehabilitation of water supply infrastructure.
