Telecommunication holding VimpelCom Ltd warned the investors on probable change of the main shareholders.
According to Russian media, the commission informed The US Securities and Exchange Commission, that sale of ordinary shares of 1,57 billion is being discussed. It is 89,2% of the company’s ordinary shares. This share is owned by Norwegian holding Telenor (589,6 million share) and Letter One, which is owned by Mikhail Fridman, German Khan and Alexei Kuzmichev (986,5 million shares).
Russian “Vedmost” reports relying on the source, that Hong Kong-based holding Hutchison might acquire the shares. It should be noted, that VimpelCom operates in 18 countries, including Georgia, under the brand of Mobitel (Beeline).
To remind, “Mobitel” planned to acquire shares of “Caucasus Online”. The agreement was achieved among the sides. The case was discussed in the Communication Commission, where “Mobitel” submitted an application on allocation of sum from “VimpelCom”. But, unexpectedly the deal failed and a few days earlier, “Caucus Online” declared about the agreement with “MagtiCom”.
