Tourism infrastructure will be located next to Enguri hydroelectric power plant. The strategic plan of infrastructural development was presented at the agency of Georgian Cultural Heritage Protection by Estonian experts.
According to the presentation, Enguri power plant will have balconies for the landscape, Cable Cars, science and discovery center, open concert space and the highest elevator in the world on the dam. It is also important that the project will be implemented on the way which leads to Svaneti. There will be touristic routes to Enguri hydroelectric power plant.
The strategic plan aims not only development of Enguri hydroelectric power plant territory but also promotion of tourism in the region. The project will take 10 years to be completed and they will start it in 2017.
The project was prepared in collaboration with Estonian Ministry of Culture. Enguri Hydroelectric power plant got a status of industrial heritage in 2015, which is very important in sense of raising awareness in the field.
