Geocell, Mobitel and Magticom companies have notified transit operators for international incoming calls about cessation of interconnection. According to Association of Telecommunication Operators, the above-mentioned companies ignore obligations set by the regulatory commission for providing competitive environment on the market.
“Law on electronic communication bans interconnection restriction or disruption without consent by the regulatory commission. Despite this obligation, the mentioned companies have not applied to the regulatory commission and they plan to arbitrarily violate the key principle of the communication market and cease communication between subscribers. This action of the mentioned companies violate the law and moral principles and aims at full liquidation of transit companies and their ejection form the market.
On April 13 the regulatory commission will hold a meeting to discuss sanctions against the mentioned companies.
