Temur Chkonia announces on bringing of two well-known brands on Georgia beer market.
Famous businessman, minority shareholder of beer producing company “Castel”, declares that negotiations are held with Dutch and German companies. However, the first one is at the stage of completion.
“There should be a little intrigue, and very little is left to be announced”, – Chkonia declared to GBC.
“The Dutch company has told us that we are signing an agreement, but the second will be an atomic bomb, it is a well-known brand. I cannot tell you the details, but I will tell you that it only produces products in Germany through the worldwide and the other country will be Georgia, now guess … “, – says Chkonia.
Businessman responds to the sale of shares at “Castel” and does not understand the fuss.
“Sometimes it’s very tragic for people (and not for businessmen), when someone sells something, it is not the topic of poverty, it is progress toward success – business marathon”, – Tchkonia notes.
He says that “Argo / Castel” will be very cool brewery, which will produce a high-quality and make a decent competition to the market players at the beer market.
“Unfortunately, sometimes is thought in Georgia that 100% should be owned by him and then it will be good, but it is not right. When a new competitor has appeared on the beer market, competition is increased; we started to cooperate with such brands, which can compete with those products. We are not boxers; we are people who make products, so we have to offer such goods to the people, which will be approved by them. I was 100%-shareholder of “Castel”, that stage had been finished. Now, I start the second stage. It is a business, plain and modern. We have entered Europe without visa, so that are the world’s well-known formulas,”- says Chkonia.
As you know, JSC “Argo” has become holder of “Castel”. The majority shareholder of the company is Zaza Nishninaidze, founder of “Meidan Group”.
