“Telasi” Increased Electricity Consumption by 7% in the First Half of the Year

In the first half of 2014, JSC “Telasi” consumed 1.1 billion kWh of electricity, which is 7% more than inthe first half of 2013. “TELASI” explains an increasein the volume of electricity consumption byeconomic growth and an increase in the number of customers.

A quantity of electricity consumed  in January-  June 2014 increased by 8% compared with the same period of 2013 and amounted to 1.48 billion kWh. “This increase is primarily due to a reduction in the size of the losses,” – it was explained in  “TELASI.”

The number  of “Telasi” subscribers increased by 3.3% in 6 months of 2014 compared to the same period of 2013 (17 thousand customers) and made  532.5 thousand subscribers, from them  484.1 thousand are individuals while 48.5 thousand – legal entities.

As of 6 months of 2014, the total length of transmission lines totaled 4.443 km that is  4.8% longer  than in the same period of 2013.

Recall that “TELASI” carries out distribution of electric power   in Tbilisi. In August 2003, a 75% share in “Telasi” was purchase by the Russian  “InterRAO” while  25% is  owned by the state.
