TBC Bank won in the competition of “Business for Gender Equality – to promote women’s education and professional development”, that was held under the patronage of The Millennium Challenge Account – Georgia (MCA).
There were 29 participant Georgia-based organizations taking part in the competition.
The main objective of the competition was to reveal such organizations which establishing women’s professional development as gender equality can promote much needed economic growth in the developing world.
“We were looking for the companies, that contribute in the development of women’s professional education, supporting women in non-traditional professional fields, as well as equally providing trainings to diverse working staff, helping them to establish professional contacts.” – said Ketevan Maminaishvili, Gender and Social Inclusion Director at MCA Georgia.
“Around the world, there is a tendency to activate the role of women in public life. It is the same in Georgia. It is important to increase public involvement in this direction.”
“As for TBC bank, naturally there is gender equality. It is 14 years I am a member of this organization and I have never felt unequal attitude in this business”,- Said the bank’s deputy CEO, Nino Masurashvili at the award ceremony.
Three more winner companies were named besides TBC bank.
The aim of Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) is to support and encourage women, in order to get an education and being involved in public life entirely.
