SOCAR Rejects to Continue Dispute against Competition Agency

SOCAR oil company disagrees with the fine imposed by the Competition Agency, but the company has not sued against the decision. SOCAR director general Levan Giorgadze told BM.Ge that the company has already paid the fine and preferred to cease the dispute to avoid taking additional costs.

We remind you that the Competition Agency reduced the 55 million GEL fine to 3 million GEL after revision of the case.

“We disagree with this decision, but, finally, the total costs were lower than we would have to take for full trial. Anyway, our financiers and lawyers decided to cease the dispute at this stage and to forget this case… We have paid the fine and the issue is over”, Levan Giorgadze said.
